Stephen King delivers sharp critique of Trump and his erratic social media posts
Stephen King, the legendary horror author, has once again criticized Donald Trump, this time taking aim at his writing skills. King, currently working on a CGI remake of Cujo, had recently defended a controversial joke about Trump’s false claim that Haitian immigrants were eating pets. Now, he has shifted focus to Trump’s grammar and spelling.

Trump often shares his thoughts on Truth Social, where his posts spark debates. In one recent message about crime in Washington, D.C., he wrote: “I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful… The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY… The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong.”
Reacting, King tweeted: “Can you possibly trust a President who can’t spell, has serious problems with grammar, and capitalizes at random? A President who can’t write can’t think.”
While many noted Trump’s unusual capitalization habits, his supporters defended him. One person argued, “You’re a writer. He’s a businessman and leader. Do you trust your doctor even though you can’t read his handwriting?” Another added, “Grammar is not a measure of intelligence. Stay in your lane.”
Others suggested the real issue was Trump’s incoherent and erratic communication style, which they said reflects unclear thinking more than typos.
At the same time, King’s remarks resonated with many. Supporters agreed that Trump’s writing signals deeper problems, with one person saying, “His lack of coherent writing ability signals so much more than people are recognizing.”
Others pointed to past blunders, like confusing Alaska with Russia, as evidence of poor judgment. Another wrote: “A president who butchers grammar and sprays random capital letters is a global embarrassment.”
King’s comments continue to fuel online debate, drawing both criticism and praise over whether writing ability reflects leadership skills.
