In a now-viral Reddit post, the bride shared that her husband’s family, particularly his mother, disapproved of their relationship. The husband’s mother reportedly wanted him to marry someone equally affluent and believed the bride was after his wealth.
Family Hostility
According to the post, the bride faced relentless hostility from her mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law. The trio harassed her online using fake accounts and even denied their actions when confronted by the groom. The situation escalated when the brother-in-law attempted to pay the bride off with a blank check to leave the family.
When the couple announced their engagement, the family’s disapproval reached new heights. The groom’s mother allegedly faked a heart attack to prevent the wedding, blaming the bride for her “condition” and demanding she cover medical expenses.
Wedding Day Sabotage
On the wedding day, the family took their sabotage to an extreme level. While the bride was walking down the aisle, hired individuals threw red paint on her wedding gown. “Three men ran up—two with cans of paint and another recording—and covered her dress in red. At first, guests thought it might be blood,” the post read.
Despite the chaos, the bride changed into a gold gown and returned to continue the ceremony.
Police Involvement and Honeymoon Chaos
The family didn’t stop there. They called the police, falsely claiming there were illegal substances at the wedding. Guests were searched, and the groom narrowly avoided arrest. Suspicion arose that the brother-in-law had bribed the authorities.
Even after the wedding, the harassment continued. The mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law reportedly tried to steal the groom’s passport and visa. They also allegedly bribed the couple’s travel agency to sabotage their honeymoon.
